The subject of this article is to draw attention to the problems that arise when creating a migration policy in the European Union and Poland in the context of negative demographic projections for the next decade. Migrations of workers in globalizing world become something natural, but attention should be paid to the need for intercultural integration and the development of migration policy. The competitiveness of the European economy within the next decades will depend on the degree of openness to global markets for labor and the susceptibility of Europeans to the changes associated with the inflow of people from completely different cultures.
