PL

„Abendgesellschaft” Zsuzsanny Gahse jest rodzajem reportażu ze spotkania autorskiego, podczas którego uczestnicy wygłaszają w swych umysłach monologi wewnętrzne, dotyczące ich życia. Głównym ich tematem jest smutek i samotność w tłumie. Bohaterowie są pełni sprzeczności: Z jednej strony cierpią z powodu samotności i chcą od niej uciec, z drugiej natomiast świadomie izolują się od innych ludzi i od świata realnego, uciekając w świat iluzji i sztuki. Zapominają przy tym o pielęgnowaniu wzajemnych relacji międzyludzkich, które stają się jedynie powierzchowne i wymuszone. Autorka stale zmienia perspektywę narracji: albo znajdujemy się na spotkaniu autorskim, albo w umyśle jednej z trzynastu postaci. Dzięki temu zabiegowi czytelnik ma wrażenie, że bohaterowie zwracają się bezpośrednio do niego ze swoimi problemami, spostrzeżeniami i komentarzami. Poprzez analizę wybranych monologów podjęto w artykule próbę odpowiedzi na pytanie, czym jest w istocie samotność jednostki w tłumie.

“Abendgesellschaft” by Zsuzsanna Gahse is a type of a reportage from a meeting with an author, during which the participants in their minds hold interior monologues about their lives. The main topic is sadness and loneliness in the crowd. The figures are full of contradictions: at the one hand, they suffer because of loneliness and want to escape from it; yet at the other hand, they consciously separate themselves from other people and from the real world by escaping into the world of illusion and art. They forget to foster interpersonal relations, which in turn become superficial and forced. The author of the book constantly changes the narrative perspective: we are either placed in the meeting with an author or in the mind of one of the thirteen figures. Thanks to this manoeuvre the reader is under the impression that the characters turn to him/her directly with their problems, reflections and comments. The paper presents an attempt to – by means of an analysis of selected monologues – answer the question about the essence of loneliness of an individual in the crowd.
