This article makes a novel contribution to knowledge and the Polish literature on the processes of law-making and proposes original adjustments to the legislative process which takes place in the Polish parliament. It starts from diagnosing the current state of affairs and highlighting areas and specific processes, which can be perceived as dysfunctional, such as frequent changes to the law, or law being unclear. It argues that improvements to the legislative process should be guided by the following imperatives: 1) the legislative process should be more rational; 2) the legislative process should be more professional; 3) the legislative process should be more socialized; 4) the legislative process should be more controlled and 5) legislative process should be more effective.
