Siewcą uczuć wyższych, które definiują człowieczeństwo, jest wolontariusz, który poprzez swoją pracę bezinteresowną i nieodpłatną poświęca siebie i swój czas by nieść pomoc innym. Chęć angażowania się ludzi w wolontariat jest ogromna, gdyż osób potrzebujących jest naprawdę wiele. Istotny jest fakt, że korzyści, które wypływają z pracy wolontariackiej, mogą być obustronne. Zdobycie nowych doświadczeń zawodowych, zaspokojenie swojej potrzeby samorealizacji, możliwość zdobywania nowych znajomości i zwiększenie poczucia wspólnoty to tylko niektóre pozytywne aspekty, które niesie za sobą praca wolontariusza. W opracowaniu zaprezentowano wyniki badań zrealizowanych wiosną 2018 r. przez osoby pracujące w Studenckim Kole Naukowym „Wolontariusze”, działającym na Wydziale Nauk Społecznych w Uczelni Jana Wyżykowskiego. Dotyczyły one zaangażowania studentów pedagogiki w działania wolontariackie.

In these hard times, where money rules the world and higher feelings very often do not matter anymore, every nucleus of goodness and kindness counts. The sower of these feelings is a volunteer who, through his selfless and unpaid work, sacrifices their life and time to help others. The need to get people involved in volunteering is huge, because there are a lot of people in need. It is important that the benefits that flow from volunteer work can be mutual. Gaining new professional experience, satisfying your need for self-realization and the opportunity to acquire new friendships and increase the sense of community are just some of the positive aspects that volunteer work brings. The study presents the results of research carried out in spring 2018 by people working in the Student Volunteers’ Scientific Club, operating at the Faculty of Social Sciences at UJW in Polkowice. They concerned the involvement of students of pedagogy in volunteering activities.
