On 19th July 2017, President of the Supreme Audit Office Krzysztof Kwiatkowski presented the lower house of the Polish Parliament – the Sejm with the “Analysis of the State Budget Execution and Monetary Policy Guidelines in the Year 2016”. The document was elaborated on the basis of the findings of the execution of the state budget and the budget of the European Funds in 111 budget parts, as well as the execution of the financial plans of 33 entities of the off-budget economy. NIK gave a positive opinion on the regularity of accounting books of all the administrators of 20 budget parts audited in this regard. A positive opinion was also given for 95 percent of annual budget statements, audited in 104 budget parts and at 189 third-level administrators. Within its constitutional obligation, NIK also audited the activities of the National Bank of Poland with regard to the monetary policy guidelines in 2016.
