Zdaniem autora publikacji, za rewitalizacją przestrzeni akademickiej przemawiają następujące argumenty. 1. Przestrzeń akademicka jest przestrzenią publiczną. 2. Przestrzeń akademicka to także przestrzeń swobody intelektualnej, której ramy buduje przestrzeń fizyczna wymyślona przez architekta. Fizyczność (stan techniczny budynków i budowli określającej tę przestrzeń) wpływa na zakres swobody intelektualnej, wzmacnia ją lub ogranicza. 3. Współczesna przestrzeń akademicka łączy wspólnotę akademicką z lokalnym społeczeństwem. W artykule autor stara się je przedstawić szczegółowo, odwołując się często do przykładu zabytkowego kampusu uczelni, w której pracuje.

The author claims that the following arguments support the revitalization of academic space: 1. Academic space is public pace. 2. Academic space is also the space of intellectual freedom whose frames are built by physical space conceived by the architect. The physical aspects (technical condition of the buildings and structures that determine the space) influence the scope of that intellectual freedom, and either strengthen or restrict that freedom. 3. Present-day academic space integrates the academic community with the local community. In this paper, the author tries to present those aspects in detail, often making references to the example of the historical campus of his school.
