The article is an analysis of the conditions associated with the use of the term "administrative legislation". The author notes that the term is used in higher education more often to identify the subject of teaching. Also academic textbooks and other legal publications use it as a term for a separate science of legislation. After presenting the definition of the concept of legislation, the author discusses the definition of administrative legislation and the views of those supporting the usage of this term. He shows the problems that arise in connection thereof on the basis of language, as well as on the basis of semantic consistency attributed to the concept of administrative legislation within the scope in which the concept of legislation is used. The author also notes the inconsistency between semantic definition of administrative legislation and the one used in course textbooks. Due to the depth of these inconsistencies, the author proposes to consider withdrawing from the use of the concept of administrative legislation or essentially redefining it.
