EN

The aim of this paper is to demonstrate that Czech Catholic theology was develo­‑ ping promisingly specifically in the first half of 19th century, when the periodical Journal for Catholic Clergy (Časopis pro katolické duchovenstvo) began to be published. Only publications dealing with fundamental–theological topics, which is the field of interest of its author, are focused on in the paper. The content of the publications is briefly evaluated and compared with the contemporary status of theological knowledge.
