Medieval arms located in the Museum of the First Piasts at Lednica are one the largest collections early medieval militaries in Europe. Discovered in the lake Lednica these objects have been repeatedly published and analyzed by archaeologists and students in arms since the 50s of the 20th century, although the area so far tested includes a small part of the lake. Publications of such authors like A. Kola, G. Wilke, J. Wrzesiński and many more allow reveal a huge amount of historical sources used in the study of medieval military technology. This article summarizes the achievements of Polish historiography related to the collection of medieval arms, cataloged in the museum, and indicates further analysis on those elements, which should be studied in the near future.
