Celem niniejszego artykułu jest ukazanie sytuacji bezpieczeństwa w Mali w latach 2015–2018, przedstawienie głównych czynników mających wpływ na jej pogorszenie, a także perspektyw rozwoju w przyszłości. Pomimo kilkuletnich wysiłków środowiska międzynarodowego, w tym ONZ, Unii Europejskiej oraz państw afrykańskich z regionu Sahelu, mających na celu ustabilizowanie sytuacji bezpieczeństwa w Mali, ulega ona ciągłemu pogorszeniu. Dodatkowo akty przemocy i ataki terrorystyczne zaczynają dotykać także państwa graniczące z Mali, m.in. Burkinę Faso i Niger. W artykule ukazano moment powstania oraz rozwój działalności tzw. Państwa Islamskiego (IS) w Mali i regionie, a także znaczenie aktywności IS w konsolidacji grup zbrojnych powiązanych z Al-Kaidą, do obecnej postaci JNIM. Na zakończenie ukazano także dalsze wysiłki środowiska międzynarodowego mające na celu stabilizację sytuacji w Mali i regionie Sahelu.

The purpose of this article is to show the security situation in Mali in 2015-2018, to present the main factors affecting its deterioration, as well as future development prospects. Despite several years of efforts by the international community, including the UN, the European Union and African countries from the Sahel region, aimed at stabilizing the security situation in Mali, it is constantly deteriorating. In addition, acts of violence and terrorist attacks are also beginning to affect countries bordering Mali, including Burkina Faso and Niger. The article shows the moment of creation and the development of the so-called Islamic State (IS) in Mali and the region, as well as the importance of IS activity in the consolidation of armed groups related to Al-Qaeda, to the current form of JNIM. Finally, the continuing efforts of the international community to stabilize the situation in Mali and the Sahel region were also shown.
