We refer to sport and physicalactivity by means of a technicallanguagefull of termsindicating devices used in sportsdisciplines, movesallowed by rules and the names of stages of the game. Due to specificcharacteristics of sportsgames and the place of sport in social life, no wonder, the expressionsdescribingthissphere of humanactivityveryoftenappearalso in othercontextsthan sport. The articleisdedicated to the metaphoricuse of sportsterminologyreferring to otherareas of life. Besideconcisetheoreticalcomments, we propose a set of tasks to be usedduringlanguageclasses of Polish as a foreignlanguage.
