The objective of the article is to present the results of sociological analysis of a web blog which primarily attracts teenagers who "chose" anorectic lifestyle. Today we live in the world of all-embracing pop-culture. One of its elements is emerging culture of thinness. It sets standards for the appearance that most young girls and women find very difficult to achieve. Thinness is interpreted in many ways : as a symbol of femininity, sexual attraction, control over life and life success. Standing patterns of popculture and culture of thinness have been flocking to Poland especially since the system transformation in the early and mid-nineties. Therefore, the elements of Western lifestyle have been adapted by a generation of young Poles in the process of socialization. The existence of such groups as the Internet community "Motylki" is the evidence of the phenomenon. The community consists of teenagers, whose main goal is to loose weight, and the highest value is "Ana", i.e. anorexia. In other words, "Motylki" is a group of young girls who aim at standards of the culture of thinness, thereby recognizing them as important and significant. Therefore the anorectic lifestyle created by the community becomes the means to achieve socially desirable values. "Motylki" are teenagers in the period of adolescence, who are particularly susceptible to socio-cultural influence. The opinion of the others as well as social acceptability are of a high importance to them. Placing the young generation in the broader socio-cultural context allows to understand the "choice" of anorexic lifestyle by the girls belonging to the Internet community "Motylki".
