This legal opinion comprises an analysis of the permissible scope of verifying the accuracy of information contained in applications for participation in a public hearing, with particular attention to submissions made by individuals acting on behalf of entities other than legal persons. Article 70c of the Standing Orders of the Sejm explicitly sets out the conditions that must be met for a declaration of interest in the legislative process to be deemed valid. The author demonstrates that it cannot be reasonably maintained that there is no possibility to verify whether the information provided in an application is truthful. However, in this context, a question arises regarding the permissibility of verifying information not expressly required under Article 70c of the Standing Orders of the Sejm, but which is included in the application form template attached as an annex to the relevant order of the Marshal of the Sejm.
