Criteria for admission to schools for officers in the first decade of post-war Poland underwent changes in connection to the socio-political changes of then Polish state. In the early postwar years candidates from the front were admitted to schools for officers. In the following years it was required for the candidates to hold a certificate of morality issued by the Militia or municipal offices, four years of secondary education (i.e. a small high school diploma, so called “mała matura”), adequate health condition and age of no more than 24/25 years, and in the case of professional non-commissioned officers - 27/28 years. The condition of being admitted to the selected schools included successfully passing the entrance exams, obtaining at least satisfactory results in physical fitness test and obtaining a positive opinion of the selection committee. In the first operating period of the Infantry Officers School No. 2 in Jelenia Gora, the school authorities were not able to obtain suitable candidates to military schools in the country, so they conducted additional recruitment, reducing the entrance requirements. The commanders of schools (in the years 1949 to 1954 they were Soviet officers) were responsible for the recruitment process. They conducted a whole series of propaganda and advertising actions to attract potential candidates. In each province there were mobile propaganda groups encouraging to join the military schools. However, it did not bring the expected results and consequently affected the level of accepted candidates and at the same time - the possibility of organizational development of the Polish Army. Aiming at the recruitment of adequate number of candidates for officer schools, increasingly lowered the criteria, particularly these concerning education.

Критерия приема в училище для офицеров в первом десятилетии послевоенной Польши изменялись вместе с социально-политическими переменами тогдашнего польского государства. Впервые, послевоенные годы в офицерские училища принимали кандидатов с фронтовым опытом. В последующие годы требовалось, чтобы кандидаты имели свидетельство о морали, выданное гражданской милицией или муниципальным управлением, образование на уровне четырех лет средней школы, соответствующее состояние здоровья и возраст не более чем 24/25 лет, а в случае профессиональных младшего командного состава - 27/28 лет. Условием приема в училище было успешная сдача вступительных экзаменов, получение по меньшей мере удовлетворительных результатов по физической подготовке и получению положительного заключения Комитета по отбору. В первом периоде функционирования офицерского пехотного училища № 2 в Еленей Гуже, не имели в стране подходящих кандидатов в военноучебные заведения, был произведен дополнительный набор, снижая вступительные требования кандидатом. За рекрутский набор несли ответственность командиры военных училищ (в 1949-1954 гг. были там советские офицеры). Был проведен ряд пропагандных и рекламных акций для привлечения потенциальных кандидатов. В каждом воеводстве была мобильная пропагандная группа, которая привлекала к вступлению в военное училище. Однако, по-прежнему это не принесло ожидаемых результатов и влияло на уровень принятых кандидатов и в то же время – возможность организационного развития польской армии. Принимая достаточное число кандидатов в офицерские училище, все чаще они снижали критерия, в частности, образование.
