Przedstawione zostały dwa uzupełniające się wspomnienia uczestników kampanii wrześniowej 1939 r., farmaceuty Alfreda Reysnera, i lekarza Stanisława Waliszewskiego. Obaj służyli w Armii „Poznań”, w tym samym szpitalu polowym. Obaj wzięli udział w bitwie nad Bzurą, gdzie ich dywizja poniosła znaczne straty i praktycznie przestała istnieć jako zorganizowana jednostka. Charakterystyczną cechą obu wspomnień jest brak opisów działań medycznych i dominujący pesymizm oraz poczucie tragizmu.

This is a presentation of the memoirs of two participants of the Polish September campaign of 1939 – a pharmacist Alfred Reysner (1911-1983), and a physician Stanisław Waliszewski. Their accounts complement each other. Both of them served in the “Poznań” Army, in one field hospital. Both of them took part in the battle of the Bzura, during which their division suffered considerable losses. The characteristic feature of both memoirs is the lack of descriptions of medical activity as well as the dominant pessimism and the feeling of tragedy.
