Abstracts

The point of the text is a search for an answer to the question as to what is the sense of meetings between diagnostics and evaluation understood primarily as meetings of diagnosticians and evaluators. The reflection on those is derived from theoretical assumptions concerning the category of a meeting, understanding of sense and justification of the interpretation model adapted. As it follows from an idea derived from J. Tischner’s thought, a meeting requires directness presented with conscious non-secretiveness on the stratum of dialogue (J. Tischner, T. Gadacz, M. Heidegger) between diagnosticians and evaluators – theoreticians and practitioners. The sense of meetings between diagnostics and evaluation derived from W. Stróżewski’s definition of sense reveals their “theoretical”, ontological, epistemological, axiological and agathological dimensions. The interpretation of meetings between diagnostics and evaluation, conducted in the light of S. Messick’s unitary doctrine of validity, highlights the integrated character of these meetings at school. The validitybased model of the concept of meetings presents its several strata (the “theoretical”, metholodological, axiological and ethical ones), and its cumulative character is reflected on the dimension of social consequences of diagnosis and evaluation.
