The article describes reverse mortgages and analyses them as an additional source of retirement income beyond pensions. A reverse mortgage is a loan available to seniors used to release home equity in a property either in one lump sum or across multiple payments. The authors also discuss the existence of the reverse mortgage in Poland and determinants of reverse mortgage market development.
