Abstracts
Printing, bookselling and editing in Przemyśl was initiated by the printer Adam Klein in 1754. Between 1754 and 1866 Przemyśl functioned as the regional center for both state and church administration. It was the main place publishing books in various languages for Poles, Ukrainians and Jews. The publications were intended among others for the whole Roman Catholic diocese and Greek Catholic eparchy, whose influence reached far at that time. During the partition of Poland printed matter from Przemyśl was purchased not only in Galicia but also in many cities in other regions.
