Education on the way to mature reception of the death phenomenon. Humanistic dimension of thanatological education

The objective of this article is to describe a new model of the thanatological education in the context of disappearance of cultural and social mechanisms allowing us to prepare for a conscious acceptance of death. On the basis of research, the concept of thanatological education broadly-undrestood as a process of creating the mature attitude to death was presented. Subsequently, an attempt of showing the humanistic fundamentals of the new model of thanatological education was made. This form of education seems to be an important issue of today’s research, when the culture stops confronting us with death.
