Abstracts

The article presents a profile of Professor Konrad Rudnicki (1926–2013), acknowledged and internationally recognised astronomer and cosmologist, who had lasting scholarly achievements, versatile interests and active life. The author of this article, who knew Professor Rudnicki personally, described several colourful episodes he had witnessed and added some general thoughts concerning the history of astronomy and cosmology that the late scientist had actively co-created.
