Konkurencyjność regionu związana jest z sukcesem oraz przewagą danej jednostki nad innymi, poprzez odpowiednie wykorzystaniem posiadanych zasobów. Artykuł dotyczy analizy wybranych elementów infrastruktury technicznej oraz społecznej jako czynników mających wpływ na kształtowanie konkurencyjności regionalnej powiatu nowosądeckiego. Wybrana jednostka terytorialna, została przedstawiony na tle powiatów ziemskich wchodzących w skład podregionu nowosądeckiego, co pozwoliło na rzetelną ocenę osiągniętych wyników. Przeprowadzona analiza pozwoliła na wskazanie, które elementy infrastruktury technicznej oraz społecznej wpływają na konkurencyjność regionalną powiatu nowosądeckiego. Wskazano również bariery konkurencyjności, a więc elementy, które wymagają rozbudowy ze względu na ich niewystarczające natężenie.

Competitiveness of a region is related to the success and advantage of a given territorial unit over another units, which results from an appropriate use of its resources. The present thesis is concerned with an analysis of selected elements of technical and social infrastructure, which are viewed as factors influencing the development of regional competitiveness of the Nowy Sącz County. The selected territorial unit is presented against the backdrop of the land counties constituting the Nowy Sącz subregion, which thus enables a thorough evaluation of the achieved results. The conducted analysis makes it possible to point to the elements of the technical and social infrastructure that affect the regional competitiveness of the Nowy Sącz County. Also, some competitiveness barriers are emphasized, that is the elements which require expansion due to their insufficient intensity.
