Taking from numerous historical and modern examples set in realities of social and spatial living conditions of inhabitants of Szczecin, examples form the space of social communication, marine education and cultural sociology, the author justifies the following thesis: the sailing ship was, and still is, a medium of transmission, a medium and simultaneous transmissions.
