Obok wielu korzyści wynikających z procesów miniaturyzacji i nanotechnologii w walce z nowotworami, zwiększania możliwości technicznych sprzętu elektronicznego czy trwałości, a przede wszystkim odporności eksploatacyjnej różnego rodzaju maszyn, należy pamiętać o zagrożeniach wynikających z tych działań.

Next to the many benefits of miniaturization and nanotechnology in the fight against cancer, increase of the technical capacity of electronic equipment or its durability, and above all operational resistance of all sorts of machines, we should be aware of the dangers of such activities. The main problem of nanotechnology still remains a significant toxicity of its products. The enormous danger is the possibility of using nanotechnology by terrorist groups, which aim remain not only a big population centers or public places, but also fresh water intakes or industrial livestock farms. We should seriously consider the possibility of using weapons or means of mass destruction based on the nanotechnology, which are not detectable by standard chemical agents’ warning systems or other detectors. The great threat can become nanosensors, which in an easy and fast way will determine the multiplicity of human clusters and set targets to attack, or the intelligence nanoequipment, which greatly facilitate the acquisition of information to design new types of weapons and means of mass destruction.
