W kontekście wzrostu liczby rodzin niepełnych oraz wyzwań, jakie niosą ze sobą wychowanie i opieka nad dzieckiem z zaburzeniem ze spektrum autyzmu, istotnym postulatem jest poznanie doświadczeń związanych z macierzyństwem w grupie samotnych matek dzieci z autyzmem. Celem poznawczym badań była wstępna diagnoza percepcji samotnego rodzicielstwa w przypadku matek dzieci z zaburzeniem ze spektrum autyzmu, a celem aplikacyjnym – uzyskanie informacji przydatnych dla ich efektywnego wspierania. Do analiz zakwalifikowano wyniki uzyskane przez 50 kobiet. Wszystkie były matkami samotnie wychowującymi przynajmniej jedno dziecko z diagnozą zaburzenia ze spektrum autyzmu. Wykorzystano następujące narzędzia badawcze: Skala Postaw Rodzicielskich (SPR) Mieczysława Plopy, Ten Item Personality Inventory w polskiej adaptacji Agnieszki Sorokowskiej i in. (TIPI-PL) oraz Test Zdań Niedokończonych i kwestionariusz ankiety w opracowaniu własnym. Uzyskane wyniki pozwalają na charakterystykę postaw rodzicielskich, jakie badane mają wobec swoich dzieci oraz ukazują ich związki z określonymi cechami osobowości matek. Dostarczają informacji dotyczących percepcji rodzicielstwa, percepcji dziecka i relacji z nim, oczekiwań, nadziei i zmartwień związanych z dzieckiem oraz stosowanych oddziaływań wychowawczych. Pozwalają też ocenić wsparcie formalne i nieformalne, z jakiego korzystają matki.

In the context of the increasing number of one-parent families and the challenges involved in bringing up and taking care of children with autism spectrum disorder, it is important to learn how motherhood is experienced by single mothers of children with autism. The aim of the study was to carry out a preliminary assessment of the perception of single parenting in the case of mothers of children with autism spectrum disorder, and the practical aim was to obtain information useful for providing them with effective support. The analyses were performed on results obtained from 50 women. All of the women were single mothers raising at least one child diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder. The following research instruments were used: the Parental Attitudes Scale (SPR) by Mieczysław Plopa, the Ten Item Personality Inventory as adapted into Polish by Agnieszka Sorokowska et al. (TIPI-PL), as well as a Sentence Completion Test and a survey questionnaire designed by the authors. The results obtained provide a picture of parental attitudes that the participants took toward their children and show their associations with the mothers’ personality traits. They provide information concerning the perception of parenting, the perception of the child and the relationship with the child, expectations, hopes and worries connected with the child, and educational interventions applied. They also make it possible to assess the formal and informal support that the mothers receive.
