The paper discusses a copy of The Great Map of The Duchy of Pomerania which in 2012 was handed over for restoration at The Department of Paper and Leather Conservation, Nicolaus Copernicus University, Toruń. The study of the technique and technology in which the map was created and observations made in the course of restoration, allow to ascertain that the copy is an exceptional artist’s proof print of the artwork, dating from 1618. The hypothesis has been confirmed by the analysis of the paper base of the map, its graphic layer and the print quality.
