W artykule najpierw przywołano rozważania dotyczące enklaw, które mogą być oceniane pozytywnie – czyli takich, które są rodzajem „zamknięcia przed”. Następnie przypomniano najważniejsze sprawy dotyczące rozumienia kultury masowej, internetu oraz innych elektronicznych urządzeń współtworzących dzisiejszą kulturę medialną. Przede wszystkim jednak rozważany jest problem, czy w cywilizacji współczesnej, choćby potencjalnie, możliwe jest pełne odizolowanie się od tej medialnej kultury. W konkluzji stwierdzono, że niestety taka izolacja, gdyby miała być pełna i konsekwentna, praktycznie nie jest możliwa.

The article begins with considerations concerning enclaves that may be positively valued: those that are a sort of “closing off”. Then, the main issues concerning the understanding of the mass culture, the Internet and other electronic devices co-creating the contemporary media culture will be discussed. Above all, we will concentrate on the problem of whether an isolation from the media culture is potentially possible in the contemporary civilization. We conclude that, unfortunately, this sort of full and consistent isolation is practically not possible.
