The purpose of the article is to present the theoretical evidence which have an impact on the decisions taken by entrepreneurs to start and continue the process of internationalization. Used in the work test method covers the analysis of Polish and foreign literature sources. The article assumes the division of factors as a consequence of internal corporate objectives, strategy and the organization's tangible and intangible resources. Advantage built by the company will therefore be based on the internal structure of the enterprise, the experience on international market, realized type of value chain or assortment proposals. In contrast, external conditions taken into account as a consequence of the specific nature of the sector and the entire business environment, not only indicate a network of business relationships of the company, but also depends of political, legal and cultural factors, environmental circumstances and, finally, economic or technological conditions. Furthermore determinants are considered as heterogeneous factors and evaluate depending on the context of expansionary activity taken. Article hypothesizes the existence of parallels between presented by the company business model and the way of internationalization is managed and the type of determinants taken into consideration.
