This article is devoted to consideration and critical analysis of the concept of secularization, proposed by the popular Canadian philosopher Charles Taylor. Main elements of the secularization process, allocated by the philosopher, are highlighted in the article. There are some basic elements among them: the emergence of “exclusive humanism”, disenchantment of the world, the transformation of the “porous self” into “buffered self”, changing of attitude to the time etc. The question about the difficulties of philosophical works’ translation is raised. There is a possibility of applying the Ch.Teylor’s concept to investigate not only the Western religious life, but also of Eastern Europe is denotes.

Der Beitrag widmet sich der Prüfung und kritische Analyse der Konzeption der Säkularisierung, die der im Westen beliebt kanadische Philosoph Charles Taylor angeboten hat. Der Autor leitet die wesentlichen Elemente des Prozesses der Säkularisierung, der von dem Philosoph geprüft wird, in dem Beitrag ab. Die wesentliche Elementen darunter sind: das Erscheinen des „ausschließlichen Humanismus“, die Entzauberung der Welt, die Verwandlung des „porösen Selbst“ in das „gepufferte Selbst“, die Änderung des Verhalten in der Zeit etc. Die Frage der Übersetzung philosophischer Werke wird angeregt.

Artykuł jest poświęcony krytycznej analizie pojęcia sekularyzacji, które przedstawił znany kanadyjski filozof Charles Taylor. Autorka bada istotne elementy procesu sekularyzacji, na które zwraca uwagę Ch. Taylor. Są nimi: ujawniający się „ekskluzywny humanizm”, odczarowanie świata, przemiana „chropowatego ja” w „odizolowane ja” czy zmiana nastawienia ludzi do upływającego czasu. W artykule podjęta jest także kwestia, na ile jest zasadne odniesienie przedstawionej koncepcji Ch. Taylora do zmian zachodzących obecnie w społeczeństwach wschodniej Europy.
