Artykuł zawiera analizy tych poglądów Odo Marquarda, które składają się na proponowany przezeń kompensacyjny model kultury, choć nie jest ich egzegezą. Na część pierwszą składają się wstępne wyjaśnienia, dotyczące zarówno pojęć Marquarda, jak i pojęć własnych autora artykułu. Następnie przystępuje się do interpretacji modernizmu w oparciu o projekt antropofanii i mitu jaskini lucyferysty. W dalszej części tekstu omawiana jest relacja między modernizmem a antymodernizmem regresywnym, w skrócie nazywanym romantyzmem. Wywód zmierza do uzasadnienia twierdzenia, że wbrew Marquardowi romantyzm należy traktować jako rewizjonistyczny ruch schyłkowej fazy modernizmu, a nie zwrot antymodernistyczny.

The article comprises of analysis of certain Odo Marquard`s ideas which constitute compensational model of culture. However, these aer not the explication of it but only the preliminary interpretation. Than we take up interpretation of modernism in view of the antropophany project and the cave of luciferist`s myth. The relation between modernism and regressive antimodernism is discussed at the very end of the article. Contrary to the Marquard`s views, romanticism is to be treated as the revisionist movement of the decadent phase of modernism, not as the antimodernism turn (in culture and civilisation).
