The article describes the realization of sustainable development assumptions in the village of Andrychów situated in the touristic area of Malopolska. The notion of sustainable development is considered in connection with the activity of local community which is an example of practice worth the dissemination. Educational activity is part of the efforts for improving the quality of the environment.
