New Members of the Council of NIK The Speaker of the Sejm, i.e. the lower house of the Polish Parliament, appointed four new members to the Council of the Supreme Audit Office: Dr Mariusz Piotrowski, Dr Piotr Stec, Dr Tomasz Sobecki and Marek Zająkała. The Council of NIK is composed of: President of NIK (Chairman), Vice-Presidents of NIK, Director General of NIK and fourteen members. Among the latter, there are seven NIK staff members and seven external experts: representatives of legal and economic sciences. Renovated Seat of the NIK Regional Branch in Rzeszów After the reconstructions which lasted almost a year, on 1st August 2017 the auditors of the NIK Regional Branch in Rzeszów started working in the building at 8 Kraszewskiego street, which had undergone a thorough renovation. Jubilee Conference On 19–20 October 2017, at the faculty of Law and Administration of the Silesian University (Uniwersytet Śląski), the international conference was held “Constitution of Poland Twenty Years since Coming into Effect”. The Supreme Audit Office was represented by Mr Jacek Mazur, PhD, who made the speech entitled “Role of a Supreme Audit Institution as the Ombudsman”.
