This article attempts to identify the diversion of the investments made on the Stock Exchange in Warsaw and relates them to the development of the WIG index. Subjective and objective changes of an entity were determined and referred to in the article as investors’ activity. The connection between investors’ activity and the WIG index was measured with the method of least squares and regression analysis. The additional aim of the article is to present the possibilities given by the statistical methods related to the reduction of too many variables and the assessment of their actual connections.
