People considered to be cultural animators represent very diverse professions and social groups. They may have different approaches to culture, but usually their aim is similar – i.e. to prompt and inspire people to be culturally active. Publicly funded cultural animation projects often are not available to members of all social classes or are too focused on so-called “propagating the culture”. However, there are a number of projects, organisations and cultural animators, who operate outside the system, creating a space where people can participate in culture and work together.
