The methods of creating images of national history typical for the 18th century in the artistic and historical texts, as well as in scientific and journalistic writings are analyzed in the article. Typological matches in mode of images organization based on the example of V.A. Levshin’s, F.A. Emin’s and N.P. Rychkov’s works are set. The study proves that the operation of the archetypal structures, mythologizing of historical facts, emotional and emotional treatment of the historical story line becomes a hallmark of Russian literature and culture in the second half of the 18th century.
