Udostępnianie wizerunku dzieci w internecie, głównie w mediach społecznościowych, budzi wiele pytań i wątpliwości. Są one związane m.in. z ochroną prywatności dziecka i tym, czy rodzic ma prawo za nie decydować i umieszczać w sieci jego zdjęcia, które – mając na uwadze jej naturę – pozostaną tam na zawsze. Wątpliwości te narastają w przypadku zdjęć przedstawiających dzieci nagie i półnagie. Celem badań było poznanie opinii matek na temat prezentowania zdjęć dzieci przez rodziców w internecie, a także ich wiedzy dotyczącej zagrożenia, jakim jest pornografia dziecięca. W badaniach wykorzystano zdjęcia z kampanii „Pomyśl, zanim wrzucisz”. Uzyskane wyniki wskazują na rozbieżność między wiedzą a umiejętnością jej wykorzystania – badane zdają sobie sprawę z zagrożeń związanych z publikacją wizerunku dziecka, ale jednocześnie wydaje się, że nie do końca traktują je jako coś realnego, co może przydarzyć się im i ich dzieciom. W tym zakresie istnieje duża potrzeba edukacji.

Sharenting, mainly through social media, raises many questions and doubts. They are related inter alia with the protection of a child’s privacy and a parent’s right to decide for a child and post his/her pictures, which, given the nature of the internet, remain there forever. Questions arise in the case of pictures depicting naked and half-naked children. The aim of the study was to find mothers’ opinion on sharing children’s pictures on the internet by their parents and on their knowledge of the threat posed by child pornography. In the study pictures from the ‘Think Before You Post’ campaign were used. The results of the study show a discrepancy between the knowledge and the ability to use it: the subjects are aware of the threats connected with the publication of a child’s image, yet at the same time they do not seem to treat it entirely as something real that may happen to them and their children. Hence, there is a great need for education in this area.
