Creating an innovative economy is the goal and the challenge not only for Poland, but also for all regions. In the region of Lower Silesia a lot of activities and a variety of projects aimed at creation of innovative economy were implemented during the last few years. The article presents the experience of Lower Silesia in this field as well as identifies the goals and directions of regional development in terms of innovation.
