Despite the different definitions of veteran in the Republic of Poland and the Kingdom of the Netherlands the main task of the Veterans Institute in Doorn and the Center for Foreign Mission Veterans in Warsaw is the same — to help the veterans. The first aim of the paper is to study the organization and tasks of the Veterans Institute in the Netherlands. The second aim is to present the Dutch solutions which are worth to be implemented in Poland.
