The adoption of literary materials for the German action movie of the 20th century is characterized by both self-reflection and limited strategies that language can introduce into the picture (film). Presented analyses are based on the combination of culture science and literary studies methods. In the analysed action movies (such as The Faust, Woyzeck, Letter to a Stranger, The Trial, Jacob the Liar, Malina, La Pianiste/Die Klavierspielerin) dominates the research thesis exposing an intermediality of literature basis regarded to the film productions that respect the latest available procedure methods.
