‘Misja pokojowa’ czy ‘krwawa jatka’: eufemizmy i dysfemizmy w dyskursie medialnym na przykładzie relacji z wojny w Syrii w polskiej prasie

Eufemizmy są wszechobecne zarówno w codziennej komunikacji jak i w dyskursie medialnym. Niniejszy artykuł omawia pierwotne i wtórne funkcje eufemizmów w procesie komunikacji, językowe i pozajęzykowe motywacje zastosowania eufemizmów i dysfemizmów, oraz rolę jaką odgrywają w konstruowaniu i negocjowaniu wiedzy i władzy w dyskursie. Powyższe zagadnienia skonfrontowane są z procesem dehumanizacji językowej w ujęciu psychologicznym na podstawie badań Alberta Bandury. Na koniec strategie eufemizujące przedstawione są w kontekście dyskursu medialnego na temat wojny domowej w Syrii na podstawie tekstów „Gazety Wyborczej” i „Rzeczpospolitej”.
