Niniejszy artykuł ma na celu odtworzenie głównych schematów interpretacyjnych obecnych w polskim dyskursie prasowym na temat kapitalizmu po 1989 roku. Analiza obejmuje teksty publikowane w wybranych dziennikach i tygodnikach we wczesnych latach dziewięćdziesiątych, a następnie, w trybie porównawczym, sięga do lat 2005, 2007 i 2014. Używając wybranych narzędzi analizy ramowania (framing analysis), udało się wyodrębnić siedem ram (schematów interpretacyjnych). Cztery z nich – probalcerowiczowska, pochwała przedsiębiorczości, radykalnego neoliberalizmu oraz innowacyjności – mają charakter prokapitalistyczny i wspierają transformację. Pozostałe trzy – solidarności społecznej, patologii przemian oraz katastroficzna – mają charakter alternatywny i postulują zmiany w programie reform gospodarczych bądź je całkowicie negują. Powyższe ramy można traktować jako punkt wyjścia do głębszej analizy ramowania dyskursu na temat kapitalizmu w Polsce.

This paper investigates how the Polish press has framed the discourse concerning Poland’s transformation to capitalism. The analysis focuses on articles published in selected Polish dailies and weeklies in the beginnings of the 1990s, and then subsequently in 2005, 2007 and 2014. By applying the framing analysis methodology, seven interpretative packages have been identified. Four of them (the pro-reformist/support for Balcerowicz’s plan frame; the praise of entrepreneurship frame; the extreme neoliberalism frame; and the innovation frame) display a pro-capitalist stance, while the remaining three (the social justice/solidarity frame; the transformation irregularities frame; and the catastrophic frame) call either for altering the course of reforms or even for abandoning them completely. These findings may be seen as a starting point for a further analysis of the framing of the discourse on capitalism in Poland.
