У 1972 році в Києві вийшла книжка під назвою «Від Вишенського до Сковороди». Це була перша монографія, присвячена безпосередньо українській філософії XVI—XVIIІ ст. Крім того, це перша солідна заява гуртка моподих науковців під керівництвом Валерії Нічик. Ця дослідницька група була організована при Інституті філософії Академії наук УРСР і мала амбітні плани глибшого дослідження української філософії як у змістовому, так і в часовому плані. Чи вдалося науковцям реалізувати свої амбіції, і які власне особливості радянських досліджень філософії ран нього модерну, спробую коротко розглянути в цій статті.

The article deals with the Soviet historiography of Ukrainian philosophy of the 16—18th centuries and tries to find the tendencies it exhibited. The interest to early modern philosophy in Ukraine was unequal at different periods of the second half of the 20th century. It explains the reasons for the absence of any research activities during two post-war decades and its upsurge at the end of 1960s as well as in 1980s. It is proved that the Marxist ideology significantly influenced the research into the history of philosophy.
