The article is based on a maritime sociology contents in a new literature. The concept of global seafarer is a main output idea. An origin of seafarer profession is traced and prove that ancient Phoenicians were first professional seaman. On the ground of recent researches in Poland and abroad, on one hand problem of wages and employment reduction is described, and – on the other hand – the increasing number of Asian seafarers.
