Artykuł przedstawia zagadnienie ewaluacji polityki regionalnej w Unii Europejskiej. W pierwszym rozdziale omawia niektóre koncepcje leżące u jej podstaw i czynniki, które powodują ,że podejście do niej jest zróżnicowane. W następnym ukazuje sposoby ewaluacji polityki regionalnej w różnych krajach członkowskich, przeciwstawiając państwa, w których ewaluacja jest kluczowym elementem kształtowania polityki regionalnej tym, w których jej zastosowanie jest ograniczone. Następnie opisuje role monitoringu i ewaluacji w kształtowaniu polityki związanej z funduszami strukturalnymi w Unii Europejskiej. We wnioskach przedstawione są najważniejsze problemy związane z tymi zagadnieniami.
