Celem artykułu jest określenie obecnej relacji emerytur do wynagrodzeń w Polsce i ocena sytuacji materialnej emerytów na tle pracujących. Analizę badanej relacji przeprowadzono w ujęciu statycznym, bazując na danych z 2012 r., oraz w ujęciu dynamicznym, obejmującym lata 2000-2013. W analizie wysokości wynagrodzeń i emerytur wykorzystano dostępne dane statystyczne publikowane przez GUS i ZUS oraz gotowe opracowania dotyczące statystycznych miar tych wielkości. Obecna (w 2012 r.) sytuacja emerytów wydaje się niezbyt dobra. Jednak przyglądając się innym danym źródłowym dotyczącym dochodów gospodarstw domowych, w tym dochodu na członka gospodarstwa domowego, zauważyć trzeba, że w gorszej sytuacji znajdują się gospodarstwa osób pracujących. Dokonane porównania wskazują na niekorzystną tendencję, zmierzającą w najbliższej przyszłości do stopniowego obniżania się świadczeń emerytalnych w stosunku do wynagrodzeń. Emerytury uzyskiwane na tzw. nowych zasadach są niższe od tych otrzymywanych z w pełni repartycyjnego systemu. Wydłużenie wieku emerytalnego do 67 lat dla obu płci na pewno będzie służyło zwiększeniu świadczeń emerytalnych (zwłaszcza kobiet), ale trudno już teraz określić, w jakim stopniu przełoży się to na stopy zastąpienia.

An aim of the article is to determine the present relation of pensions to salaries in Poland and to assess the financial situation of pensioners vis-à-vis employees. An analysis of the relation in question was carried out in static terms, based on the data of the year 2012, and in dynamic terms comprising the years 2000-2013. In the analysis of amounts of salaries and pensions, the author used the available statistical data published by the CSO (GUS) and the Social Insurance Institution (ZUS) as well as the ready elaborations concerning the statistical measures of those volumes. The present (in the year 2012) situation of pensioners seems to be not good enough. However, looking at other source data on households’ incomes, including the household per capita income, one must note that households of employees are in a worse situation. The carried out comparisons indicate the unfavourable trend going in the nearest future towards a gradual decreasing pension benefits related to salaries. Pensions acquired on the so-called new principles are lower than those being received from the fully pay-as-you-go scheme. Extension of the retirement age to 67 for both sexes will certainly serve an increase of pension benefits (particularly in case of women), but it is yet difficult to determine how it will be translated into replacement rates.
