The determination of potassium contents in old glass objects resorts to gamma spectrometry. The authors relied on the phenomenon of the natural radioactivity of glass and worked out a calibration method guaranteeing totally nondestructive investigations. The measurements, which were conducted for objects with greatly variegated shapes and mass, provided satisfactory results.
