Niniejszy projekt dysertacji poświęcony jest znaczeniu i konsekwencjom korzystania z polskich usług w zakresie protetyki przez ustawowo ubezpieczonych niemieckich pacjentów. Przy zastosowaniu nowoinstytucjonalnej perspektywy badawczej analizie poddane mają być wybrane organizacje systemów opieki zdrowotnej Polski i Niemiec w odniesieniu do szans i wyzwań, które się przed nimi otwierają na młodym rynku wykraczającym poza granice tych krajów. Zgodnie z zagadnieniami wymienionymi w tytule, badanie empiryczne służy zarówno ocenie przebiegu wykorzystywania takich usług w polskim i niemieckim obszarze przygranicznym w ciągu ostatnich 20 lat, jak i rekonstrukcji procesów dostosowawczych niemieckich ustawowych kas chorych w zakresie tych kwestii. Realizacja wybranego ilościowego projektu naukowego będzie możliwa m.in. dzięki dostępowi do danych jednej z największych ustawowych kas chorych w Niemczech.
