Павел Хут утверждал, что мы имеем дело с «угасанием» интереса у исследователей к полякам на постсоветском пространстве. По мнению автора статьи, противоречат этому, в частности, исследования, касающиеся польского меньшинства в Республике Беларусь, проводящиеся в нескольких центрах (относятся к ним прежде всего Вроцлавский университет, Естественно-гуманитарный университет в г. Седльце). Наибольших достижений в развитии этих исследований добились Здислав Ю. Винницкий, Тадеуш Гавин и Адам Бобрык. Вокруг них группируются и другие исследователи, интересующиеся прошлым и современностью поляков в Беларуси. По сравнению с рубежом XX–XXI веков заметно отсутствие систематических полевых исследований, проводимых этнологами и социологами, охватывающих польское меньшинство в Республике Беларусь и в других странах, возникших после распада Советского Союза. Это приводит к тому, что голос представителей этой группы едва слышен. Плохо видна также перспектива непосредственных участников явлений и про-цессов, интересующих исследователей.

Paweł Hut has said that were are witnessing a waning of scholars’ interest in Poles living in the post-Soviet regions. According to the author of the article, this is contradicted e.g. by studies of the Polish minority in the Republic of Belarus carried out at several universities (most notably the University of Wrocław and the Siedlce University of Natural Sciences and Humanities). The greatest contribution to the development of these studies has been made by Zdzisław J. Winnicki, Tadeusz Gawin and Adam Bobryk. They bring together other scholars interested in the past and present of Poles living in Belarus. In comparison with the turn of the 21st century, there is a visible lack of systematic field research conducted by ethnologists and sociologists, and covering the Polish minority in Belarus as well as other countries that emerged after the break-up of the Soviet Union. This makes the voice of representatives of the group barely audible. The same applies to the perspective of direct participants in the phenomena and processes that are of interest to scholars.
