The sense of autonomy and participation in social life are important indicators of an effective rehabilitation process of people with disabilities. Its main purpose is to increase life satisfaction. The aim of the paper was to identify the relationship between the perception of autonomy and satisfaction in people with acquired motor limitations. This was done while taking into account the moderating role of the age of acquiring a permanent disability, its duration and the occurrence of secondary health complications. The data allowed to confirm the positive relationship between the perceived autonomy and life satisfaction. It also confirmed the role of moderators. The factors of age and occurrence of secondary health conditions turned out to be significant in modifying the character of this relationship.
