Languages of publication
In the eyes of its members, Catholic parishes in Siberia were microcommunities with unique attributes, satisfying their elementary and spiritual needs. The author of the article has distinguished four categories of those needs: subsistence (also in extreme situations, e.g. of famine), social acceptance, fulfilment of aesthetic expectations and, finally, creation of a hierarchical group with leaders the goal of which was to develop its inner potential. All those needs of the Catholics could be satisfied at the turn of the 20th century in Siberia.
