Abstracts

The purpose of this article is to make the faithful aware that the Old and New Testaments are not free from contradictions resulting both from within as well as from ancient languages and also from multitude of interpretations of various Christian theologies and, finally, from a large number of known variants of the Bible's core text. If the Holy Scriptures are verbally inspired then contradictions con-tained in them may not be incidental, but they constitute their immanent part while the Christians’ task is to resolve them individually.Therefore, removal of the contradictions, unless they result from obvious translation errors, becomes unnecessary, and they, as such, should support faith in seeking comprehension and deepen it.

• emer. prof. zw. dr hab. Przedmiot zainteresowania: historia filozofii, teologia, etyka; aktywny także jako tłumacz i pisarz; ekumenista. Doktorat Wiara i wybór moralny u S. Kierkegaarda obronił na Uniwersytecie Warszawskim; promotorem był prof. Leszek Kołakowski.Opublikował 15 książek własnych i tłumaczonych, dziesiątkiartykułów naukowych, ok. 150 tekstów popularnonaukowych i literackich. Referaty i wykłady wygłaszał i publikował w Danii, RFN, Szwajcarii, Austrii i Holandii. Przez 18 lat był kierownikiem Katedry Nauk Humanistycznych w Chrześcijańskiej Akademii Teologicznej w Warszawie. Decyzją Centralnej Komisji do Spraw Stopni i Tytułów Naukowych ma wszelkie kompetencje recenzowania i promotorstwa w zakresie filozofii i teologii Wypromował 6 doktorów, recenzował wnioski o tytuły profesorskie, habilitacje i dwa doktoraty honoris causa (Leszka Kołakowskiego oraz Patriarchy Konstantynopola Bartłomieja I). Ukazały się dwie książkijemu dedykowane, w latach 2009 i 2014.
